More babies are coming!

Well, it's baby season in my life.  I guess this part usually follows right after wedding season, so it was to be expected.

A beautiful, caring, intelligent, and extremely funny woman in my life is also having a baby and when I was at the shower, I couldn't help but grab my camera and capture some of her beautiful moments!

Enjoy!

This mother-daughter syncronized "aw" was so perfect!

Do you recognize this baby bump!  Yes, it's the maternity shoot star from my last blog!

She's having a baby!

Around Christmas last year, I got some of the best news I could ever recieve: one of my best friends and her husband were expecting their first child together!

Well trust me, when they asked me to shoot their maternity photos, I was so incredibly excited!  A maternity shoot!  One of my favorite couples in the world!  A beautiful set of people!  The universe aligned for this baby, trust me.

Here are a few of my favorite moments of that day:

This is simply a reminder of how beautiful (inside and out) the people that God has placed in my life are.  I'm so grateful for these two people, and so excited to meet their son!

My "Oldest" Friend

Back in May, one of my oldest girlfriends told me that her youngest son was turning 2.  "Nope" I said, "It can't be possible because we're only 18, right?"

Yah, then I snapped out of my amnesia and realized we were no longer in that decade of our lives. She has been married for 9 years now and I need to accept the fact that we're not teenagers anymore.

So I grabbed my camera one Friday morning and met them at a local park for some photo fun!  Here's what followed:

First up was her youngest son, N.  This little boy is very active and such a happy little man!  His smile is infectious and he loves to climb and run and zig zag all over the place!

Don't believe me?  Check this out!  I was asking Mr. N to walk accross the bridge towards me.  I ended up with him barrelling towards me in a full sprint!

But that wasn't all!  Mr. N has an older brother, E!

Mr. E is such a handsome young man and he is so affectionate.  To top it all off, he is very polite and has excellent verbal skills, so talking to him is sort of like talking to a little person instead of a child.

So I followed these two lovely gentlemen around the park for a while and captured the brotherly play and horsing around.  It was such a joy!

And finally, a family picture!

I met the Pioneer Woman!!!

It's true!  In February (yes, I'm going back quite a while), I met the Pioneer Woman and she signed those two books for me!

She was everything you would expect her to be: charming, patient, polite, and funny!

So if for some reason you haven't purchased her first cookbook, or her novel, or her children's book then GO OUT AND GET THEM!  I have the cookbook, I bought the novel for my mom, and the children's book for my God son.  They're all fantastic!

Loving Life

I've been on a kick lately where I've been photographing things that bring me and the people that I love happiness: things that we love.

I wanted to share some of those moments and things with you!  Enjoy!

The story behind this is two-fold:  First of all, this was one of the most excellent double lattes I've ever had in my life.  The Crepe House in San Fransisco knocked it out of the park on that one.  Second, the lady that made it just happened to surprise me with the fact that she knew (or guessed) that I'm an aries.  Apparently I'm a ram all of the time, even when ordering my omlettes.

This was just a beautiful night shot from an amazing night out in San Fransisco with Big Mike.  Great weather.  Excellent company.  Gorgeous building.  Happiness abounds.

This one is for Big Mike.  Beer tasting at the fair is one of his favorite things to do and I find it fascinating because beer is honestly really pretty to me.  The colors.  The contrasts.  I'm kind of odd like that.

Sheesh, I love this kid.  Smiling.  Happy.  Active.  Chatty.  Active.  He's a great kid and he's calming my nerves about one day having one myself.  Not there yet, but perhaps he warms my heart to the idea.

These yahoos.  It's not really a "new" photo, but these three goof balls always bring a smile to my face.  Seeing them graduate together was one of my favorte memories of 2010, and one that will probably be one of my favorite memories for many years to come.

Great Photography Quote!!!

To me, photography is an art of observation. it's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place... i've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.

Special thanks to GCD Studios for bringing this quote to my attention!
